Brave Enough to Be You

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

When Instagram gives you perfect pictures and poetic captions, I hope you're brave.

When Instagram gives you life-long friendships while you sit alone, I  hope you're brave.

When Instagram gives you birth announcements while you're struggling to conceive, I hope you're brave.

When Instagram gives you perfect marriages and well-groomed kids while your husband is getting on your last nerves and your kids haven't bathed in 3 days, I hope you're brave.

When Instagram gives you hand-letterers, flexible yogis, business owners, and famous bloggers, I hope you're brave.

When Instagram gives you the successful working mom or the mom that stays at home hugged by her babies all day, I hope you're brave.

Instagram is beautiful. Memories made and moments captured are a sure way to tell your story. However, I want you to remember that when you read the story of others to never forget your own. Don't fill your head with anxieties about the perfect picture. Don't stress about what type of mom you'll come off to be. Jesus doesn't care about your caption, he cares about your character. He doesn't want to know how many 'likes' you've received, He wants to know how you love. Be brave and consume yourself with chasing after Him. Only his approval matters. And for the moments you begin to compare, open up your heart and listen. He's given you your own gifts and deserves to be glorified with them. Be brave, girl. Be you.
